We were in a conversation with Dr. Debasish Bhattacharya, Honourable Chairman and MD of Disha Eye Hospital, who elucidated us on the design philosophy of the hospital architecture and the vision of the organization. The spacious land was purchased by the Managing Committee to develop a “dream project” – an eye hospital that will surpass the benchmarks of excellence with its services and offerings.
The design philosophy focused on functionality, patient-friendly designs and colour palettes and elevated utilitarian architecture. The elements inside the structure had to be patient-friendly so that the patients can move freely while also feeling comfortable within the elements of the space. The colour palette has been kept to be visually soothing and appealing so as to instil a feeling of calm to the patients in need. The materials used to design the structure were decided to be of easy maintenance as cleaning and hygiene are stressed upon by the authority.
The hospital has been clad with Aludecor ACPs in the shades Classico Pine (Timber Series of ACPs), Sume Stone (Sand Series of ACPs) and Rosso Opaco (Pedra Series of ACPs). The colour palette of these ACPs elevates the spacious building with a dash of relaxing aesthetics and serenity.
