Aludecor and Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy Celebrate Independence Day Together

Aludecorians spent a wonderful day with the children of the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, this 13th of August to commemorate the 73rd Independence Day. The day started reasonably early when Team Aludecor was welcomed with a guffaw of laughter from children who beamed with joy. The initial conversations at the auditorium with the teachers came to a halt by a fleet of eager children, who could not wait any longer to meet us. We were accompanied by the respected teachers who introduced us to the students. Team Aludecor soon announced the beginning of the Art Competition.

Aludecorians distributed Tee-Shirts and a box of crayons to each of the little cherubs who were already mingling amongst themselves to decide the best topic for drawing. As we watched the little ones pouring their hearts out on the art paper, we could not help but appreciate the sheer amount of talent that they possess. On the other hand, the teachers nurtured these talents as they help them blossom into beautiful flowers.

Most of the artwork created by the students revolved around Independence Day, as the Indian National Flag and International Peace Settlement Advocacy remained to be the dominant themes. The paintings also included subjects like Environmental Sustainability and Ethical Usage of natural resources- topics that matched Aludecor’s pledge to indulge in Environmentally friendly practices. Some children decided to make one of a kind art that scored high on artsy skills, quirkiness, and vivid imagination.

The children surprised us with a choir performance that sounded all the more pleasing owing to the students who came forward as percussionists and drummers. As the auditorium buzzed with melodious Bengali songs, the spectators started singing along. The ambiance became charged up with joyous energy at once!

The choir ended on a patriotic note with the Indian National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” which has been penned by Rabindranath Tagore.

The children from the Primary Section greeted us next. They posed for photographs as they flaunted the new crayon boxes and Tee-Shirts. The senior students welcomed us to their aesthetically decorated classroom after that. The teachers helped some students to talk to us through sign language speech translation. The children were extraordinarily well-spoken and skilled orators. They were proudly discussing with us, the impact of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on India’s struggle against the British empire. They gave new meaning to the word “Freedom” as they shared their perspective and narrations of it. The speeches left us mesmerized with its depth of thoughts and enriched content.

We also spent some time with the Director, the Principal, and other respectable teachers of the Indian Institute. They shared with us their Mission and Vision while discussing the different challenges that are faced by the children who try more than their best to defeat the conditions related to Cerebral Palsy.

The place of teachers in our society is indeed no less than god and the teachers at the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, make it seem believable. The teachers try heart and soul to help the children gain knowledge, education, soft skills, and cognitive development through curricular and extra-curricular activities. It is heartwarming to see them bring out the best in young children, who are the future of our country.

Team Aludecor was also provided with a lovely Afternoon Tea Session. We sipped on tea, which was accompanied by tasty cookies and snacks, prepared in-house by the students who are undergoing different vocational training to develop skills that would ensure financial independence.

As the day came to an end, we pondered upon the fact, that the experience was a perfect match with Aludecor Cares thought- Freedom, My Way. Aludecor Cares, the CSR wing of Aludecor Lamination Private Limited thrives on caring for humanity in the most humane ways. A day out with the children of the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy imbibed within us gratefulness and an eye for simplicity.

The joy and freedom that the children of this Institute gain by defeating the perils of Cerebral Palsy is the kind of pleasure that can be placed next to the feeling of godliness. The jovial ambiance of the classrooms would push anyone to create new narratives and personal perspective of freedom. Aludecor finds its freedom by celebrating innocence and simplicity. Share with us through comments, the way you perceive your freedom- What is Freedom, your way?
