ACP sheet is ideal for constructing exterior walls, facade, old construction refurbishment, internal wall decoration, false ceilings, wall panelling, signage, displays stands, PSUs, canopy and many more. In this segment of Aludecor blog, let us discuss the nitty-gritty involved in ACP sheet fabrication techniques in detail:
Some commonly used ACP fixing and fabrication materials:
- Normal drills – regular drills for aluminium and plastic may be used to drill Aluminium Composite Panels.
- Fasteners – ACPs are fabricated and installed using a variety of fasteners.
- Pop rivets – Aluminium clip angles and other structural or decorative features are often attached to ACPs with pop rivets. Since the rivet body would contact the panel’s aluminium skin, it’s best to use either aluminium or stainless steel rivets to prevent dissimilar metals from coming into contact.
- Bolts – they are a great way/materials to connect ACP sheets to other components. To prevent dissimilar metal touch, use galvanised stainless steel, aluminium bolts, nuts, and washers.
- Welding – the method Welding is used while ACP panel fixing or fabrication. After being ignited by a jet of hot air projected by an electrically heated welding gun, the filler rod and the polyethylene core are welded together.
- Dual-side tape – this can be used for fastening panels on flat surfaces, including walls, ceilings, furniture, coverings, etc., as well as for the structural adhesives. Extreme care must be taken when the adhesive is selected to guarantee that it is chosen according to application and environmental requirements.

Weatherproof performance, excellent flexibility, and zero undulation are the key features of Aludecor ACPs. One of the easiest ways to install Aludecor ACPs is Paste Installation System. In this system, we start with making holes in the wall to fix the brackets.
- We fix the brackets with fasteners to hold the MS Profile.
- After that, we set the MS profiles on the brackets, and then
- We attach the Aluminium profiles to the MS profiles with Aluminium cleats.
- Then we cut the ACP sheets as per the design dimension.
- Before pasting it on the aluminium profile, we clean the ACP and it edges with the approved cleaner.
- To paste the ACP panel on the MS structure, we use double-sided architectural tape used for structural glazing or structural Silicone sealant. After pasting all the ACPs, we groove the ACPs with approved Silicone Weather Shield.
This system is usually ideal for low-rise buildings where wind force is less.
In Aludecor, we also usethe Rout and Return techniqueto fabricate ACPs. In this process, we start with,
- Making holes in the wall to fix the brackets.
- After fixing the brackets with fasteners, we fix the MS profile brackets with a fastener so that the vertical profile can hold the panels.
- Now Aluminium cleats are used to attach the Aluminium profiles to the MS profile.
- Using a v-groove bit router, we make grooves on the 4 sides of the ACP panels with a 90° (cutting) angle.
- Then we fold the panel to get a formation of the tray.
- Then the aluminium angles are riveted onto the corners of the tray to hold the tray together.
- Aluminium cleats are fixed to the tray with pop-rivets.
- Now we are ready to fix the tray on the frame.
- We insert the backer’s rod to hold the tray properly.
- After fixing the v tray onto the frame, we create grooves on the ACPs and fill it with an approved Silicone Weather Shield.
We can use this method for the easy and proper installation of a facade.
Below are the steps to guide you through our fabrication technique one after the other while using Aludecor’s ACP panels:

Aludecor Systems–Male Female Rainscreen System
Aludecor has also introduced the revolutionary Aludecor Systems, specificallyMale Female Rainscreen System, to clad the ACP sheets perfectly, ensuring zero wastage, unmatched flatness, impressive aesthetics and cost savings.
Rainscreen claddings are external layers that minimize the force of wind-driven water movement. They block the water from entering minor breaches on the surface of a building. By the time the water reaches the “true” exterior wall, it loses drive and the ability to permeate the wall. This acts as the protective layer that screens the wall from rain, hence the name.
Advantages of Aludecor MFR is:
- Silicone-free facade installation
- Quickest installation
- Cost savings
- Great strength
- Durability
- Almost zero maintenance
- Enhanced aesthetics
- Unmatched flatness
- Facilitates insulation
Aludecor Systems helps the designer with the ability to create long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing facades. At an affordable life-cycle rate, a multi-layered Rainscreen cladding system can easily outperform alternative styles of construction.
